A shower cubicle is an enclosure fixed in a bathroom. When constructing bathrooms its important to clearly mark out the washing area. Most bathrooms use the conventional curtain and rails. The crucial thing to note is how to keep water away from the rest of the room. To control this water a floor trap is done and the ceramic floor tiles falling in that direction. A raised kerb is done with ceramic floor tiles. Its one hundred millimeters high.

A bathroom can have the shower cubicle installed. Most have different shapes and sizes. Before fixing the enclosure ensure that the raised kerb is same width as the enclosure. Measure and mark out width and height of the enclosure on the kerb and wall respectively. Remove the panels and framing. Drill and punch holes through the frame, wall, floor tiles exactly where it will be screwed. Apply silicon sealant and screw the frame firm on the wall and kerb.

Most shower cubicles have sliding or hinged door panels. Whatever the preference assemble the fixed panels applying silicon sealant on the joints. Adhere to the manufacturers instruction and fix the door panels. The reason for using silicon sealant is to ensure no leakage of water through the joints when one is showering. For sliding panels, fix the rollers loosely and make the final adjustment when in place. Use sewing machine oil on guiders and rollers.

After assembling the shower cubicle slide the doors or open the hinged one and step in to check the fitting. Adjust the water sprocket of the shower and run the water. Ensure that at all angles the water does not leak out of the framing and shower area. If it does apply the sealant on the spot, let it dry and check again. Wipe off any excess silicon and oil marks. Remove any arising dirt from the floor trap o avoid blockage during use.
